A  journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Location:

The cottage is located in Canada's westernmost province of British Columbia in an area called the Okanagan.  Comprised of an extensive valley and the mountains that flank it, the Okanagan starts at the shared border Canada/US border of BC and Washington State.  The valley stretches northward for approximately  200 miles from the town of Osoyoos to Vernon.  Two major lakes, Okanagan Lake and Skaha Lake run down the centre of the valley with numerous smaller lakes adding to the beauty. The cottage is located on spectacular Vaseux Lake which is surrounded by a protected wilderness preserve.

Driving Distances:

It is about 45 minutes driving north from the Canada/US border.  From Vancouver, it's about a 4.5  hour drive to the area. From Banff, Alberta it's approximately 8 hours driving. The nearest town with major air access is Penticton, about 30 minutes north.  International flights are available via Kelowna, about one hour north.  If you're driving, you can check the latest road conditions before you leave.
